'Starmer will say anything': TalkTV star's brutal takedown of 'Ron Burgundy' moment

Keir Starmer was taken down in a brutal TalkTV moment after being accused of "not reading his speeches" before making them. The prime minister admitted he did not know his immigration speech made in May echoed Enoch Powell's 1968 "rivers of blood" tirade, admitting at the time: "I wouldn't have used those words if I had known they were, or even would be, interpreted as an echo of Powell. I had no idea - and my speechwriters didn't know either. But that particular phrase - no, it wasn't right. I'll give you the honest truth: I deeply regret using it."

Now TalkTV caller James has shared his opinions with host Mike Graham, comparing the PM to Anchorman Ron Burgundy from the 2004 film of the same name. He said: "My head was spinning, I couldn't keep up with him because of all the U-turns. By the time I'd made it to work, he'd done another one!

"Jesus Christ! Let's be honest. He's not reading his speeches before he goes on. What is he thinking? Is he Ron Burgundy? He'll read anything on the teleprompter. You can put anything in a speech, then, and what - he'll just read it? He thinks that sounds good? It makes you sound like a bloody idiot, Keir, which you are, mate."

James then switched to a tirade against Glastonbury and controversial rap act Bob Vylan, who chanted "death to the IDF" during their set.

"And I'm not giving any mention to Bob Vylan apart from he's a moron and we'll move on from that, because we know what the BBC's game is and Glastonbury.

"You couldn't pay me to go there. I couldn't think of anything or anywhere I'd rather be less than Glastonbury. No thanks!"

Mike agreed: "James, very sensible as ever! It's head spinning, isn't it? You can't actually keep up with Starmer!"
