Prince Harry will be gearing up for his return to the UK as he plans to attend the WellChild Awards in London on September 8. Those close to Harry say he will "not give up hope" in bringing his family to the UK.
A close friend of Prince Harry's told the Times: "He's not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more."
Meghan Markle has not visited the UK since September 2022 and the couple's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have not returned to the UK since June 2022, when the Sussexes visited for Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee celebrations.
Meanwhile, it's widely believed a face-to-face meeting with his estranged father, King Charles, could also be on the agenda during his visit to the UK. But according to royal biographer Tom Bower, it is also "a meeting full of peril".
He warned: "There would be huge levels of emotion involved if they meet. Whatever Charles is facing, he would much prefer to have a good relationship with his son, so I'm sure he wants reconciliation. But he must bear in mind that he's dealing with someone who could sabotage everything and embarrass him enormously."
