Costeen Hatzi has argued she was 'fully supportive' of tennis star Nick Kyrgios and did everything to save their relationship before they split last year. The celebrity couple confirmed in mid-2024 that they were separating after almost three years together.
Prior to the break-up, the social media star was a regular supporter of the brash Australian in his tennis matches. She was courtside in Melbourne throughout Kyrgios' 2022 Australian Open doubles win with 'Special K' partner Thanasi Kokkinakis, and partied with him in London after he reached the final that same year. However, rumours of disagreements were rife during 2023 when the star missed much of the season with injury.
Hatzi has now revealed the lengths she went to in order to keep Kyrgios happy. The 26-year-old also opened up about how she was adjusting to life without the former world No.13.
"I went to all the tournaments. I was doing everything behind the scenes, his washing, his cooking, everything," she told News Corp. "I was happy to, because I loved him and we had a great relationship at the time. So I don't regret anything that I've done.
"It's different now. I have all this time for myself. I'm in a really reflective but motivated place. It has definitely been a bit of an adjustment, but I mentally prepared myself for that; it wasn't a shock."
Hatzi admitted to not being "100 per cent happy" since the split, but said that focusing on growing her business and fitness routines was helping her remain "headstrong". She also praised family and friends for their support and refused to criticise her ex-partner.
"They've given me great advice to just focus on myself and be the classier person when it comes to the break-up," she added. "I've really taken that on board, because I don't want to ruin his name.
"Sometimes my emotions get the better of me, but then I remember that it's not in my nature to say anything bad about him. We still had a beautiful relationship, even though things didn't turn out the way I'd hoped. I hope he's happy. I don't wish bad upon him at all."
Kyrgios has previously refused to reveal what caused the split, but like Hatzi, he has been respectful of his ex. He said: "Things happen. I wish her nothing but the best."
