An overtuned car burst into flames on the M65, bringing traffic to a standstill today. Severe delays affected drivers on the M65 this afternoon after a car reportedly overturned and caught fire, sending thick black smoke billowing into the air. Multiple lanes were closed, with significant delays reported across the affected stretch of the M65 in Hapton, in Lancashire.
Photos show the vehicle completely engulfed in flames, with fire crews responding at the scene. The westbound carriageway reopened, but two lanes remained closed eastbound, causing heavy congestion, LancsLive reported. One person was taken to hospital for a precautionary check, and firefighters remained on site for about fifty minutes, the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said.
