The GB News presenter told viewers she is currently recuperating at home after a recent hospital visit where she underwent an operation. The broadcaster announced she would be taking some time off from her presenting duties. On Friday, the North West reporter shared a photo of her leg in plaster on the social media platform X. However, she has assured fans that as soon as she recovers, she'll be back providing the latest updates for viewers.
In a candid health update: "[First Aid emoji] Some news from me... I had reconstructive surgery on my ankle yesterday, and although it went really well, I'm going to be off my feet for a while as I recover."
She continued: "I might be a little bit quieter than usual as I heal - but I promise I'll be back on @gbnews as soon as I can!!"
Her 12,000 followers flocked to comment on the post as they offered their well wishes.
One penned: "Sorry to hear this Sophie, feel your pain, I have both arms in plaster !!!! Can't do anything, GB News has kept me going."
Another remarked: "I hope you have a speedy recovery & get back to full capability soon."
