During tonight's instalment of Emmerdale, Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) found out his granddaughter Sarah Sugden's (Katie Hill) sperm donor is going to be none other than her close pal Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warran-Plant).
Venting to her grandmother, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), after the bombshell dropped, he raged: "Why him? That's what I want to know. It's only been five minutes since he dumped her."
Sticking up for Sarah, Charity added: "That's all water under the bridge, they are mates. They are really good mates. Will you please listen to me - she is dead certain on having a kid so will you listen to me before you have a falling out?
"While she is getting busy getting excited about Jacob being the sperm donor, she's not thinking about tomorrow's op, is she? This is a great way for her to take her mind off things."
"For once in your life, will you just let it go, please?" Charity begged the hardman.
Sarah has been going through an extremely tough time on the ITV soap after being diagnosed with cervical cancer recently during her IVF treatment.
It appeared as though Charity's words helped Cain see sense that made him vow to be by Sarah's hospital bedside following her surgery. Following their tender hug as they prepare for their grandchild to have surgery, fans flocked to X in excitement that the duo might rekindle their romance, even though they are second cousins.
One said: "Cain and Charity are destined to be together!#Emmerdale." Another added: "Charity and Cain scenes always feel soooooo 2010 #emmerdale."
A third penned: "Cain and Charity supportive grandparents bestie era, you are loved by no one more than me!!!!" Someone else noted: "That hug... OHHH MY BELOVED CHARITY #emmerdale."
Longtime fans will recall that Charity and Cain had a fling as adults and almost got married in 2010, but Charity backed out.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
