All Creatures Great and Small has made a triumphant return to Channel 5, featuring Nicholas Ralph reprising his role as James Herriot, who has shared some intriguing behind-the-scenes tales.
The sixth series also saw the return of Tristan Farnon, portrayed by Callum Woodhouse, who revealed some touching moments from the filming process.
In the opening episode, there was concern for Siegfried Farnon (played by Samuel West) at Skeldale House, with both James and Tristan worried about his wellbeing.
Mrs Hall had been missing for a while, leaving Siegfried visibly upset over her absence, which sparked concern among viewers for the beloved duo, who are hoping for a romantic storyline.
Here's everything you need to know about what transpired between Siegfried and Mrs Hall.
The first episode of All Creatures Great and Small season 6 depicted Siegfried Farnon struggling at Skeldale House in the absence of Mrs Hall.
Initially, it seemed that the pair had clashed over something, with Siegfried refusing to admit he needed Mrs Hall's assistance.
Deciding to intervene, James Herriot and Tristan Farnon travelled to Sunderland, where Mrs Hall had been residing with her son Edward, his wife and their daughter.
It turns out Mrs Hall had taken time off to help care for her granddaughter, and she was eager to spend more time with her son following his return from combat.
James and Tristan explained how Siegfried was having difficulties, but they failed to inform her that Siegfried was unaware they had come to request her return.
Upon agreeing to return to Skeldale temporarily to sort things out, Mrs Hall and Siegfried were taken aback to see each other.
Siegfried was notably short-tempered with Mrs Hall, who was left puzzled as to why she was the target of his ire.
It soon became clear that Siegfried had not coped well with Mrs Hall's decision to take a break, and he was still grappling with her absence.
He was also reluctant to admit that he was finding it difficult without her, which only fuelled his hostility towards her.
However, after recognising her as an invaluable asset and close friend, he persuaded her to stay on a long-term basis and apologised for his previous behaviour.
