'Zubeen Garg was poisoned,' reveals singer's friend; alleges conspiracy

There's been a new twist in the case of renowned singer Zubeen Garg's death. Bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami has accused manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta of poisoning him and plotting to make it appear like an accident. Goswami said that manager Sharma's behavior prior to Zubeen's death was suspicious.

The death of renowned singer and icon Zubeen Garg has taken a new turn. His bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, has made serious allegations, claiming that Zubeen's manager, Siddharth Sharma, and festival organizer, Shyamkanu Mahanta, poisoned him to death and conspired to pass it off as an accident.

In his witness statement, Goswami stated that Manager Sharma's behavior prior to Zubin's death was suspicious. An FIR has already been filed against the manager, who faces serious non-bailable charges including murder, criminal conspiracy, and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

What is the allegation?

Goswami said Sharma was staying with him at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore. During the yacht trip, the manager forcibly took control of the yacht from the captain, causing it to sway dangerously in the ocean, putting everyone's lives at risk.

Goswami claimed that Sharma asked Tanmay Phukan, a member of the Assam Association (Singapore), to arrange for drinks. He said that as Zubeen struggled for breath and was on the verge of drowning, the manager shouted, "Jabo de, jabo de" (Let him go).

Goswami said that Zubin was a trained swimmer and had taught Sharma and him swimming. Therefore, it is impossible for him to have died by drowning. He alleged that Sharma and Mahanta poisoned Zubin and chose Singapore as the location to conceal the conspiracy.

Goswami's serious allegations against Sharma

Goswami said that when Zubeen's mouth and nose began to foam, Sharma attributed it to acid reflux and told others not to worry. But by failing to call for immediate medical help, he worsened the situation, hastening Zubeen's death.

Although Sharma and Mahanta have denied these allegations during questioning, investigating agencies say witness statements, financial transactions, and other evidence raise serious doubts about Sharma's role.
