Legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is set to return to the cricket field as a player, leading the India Champions team in the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. Having won the inaugural tournament, India Champions enter the competition with high expectations. The tournament begins on July 18 and will conclude with the final on August 2. Six teams will compete: India Champions, Pakistan Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, England Champions, and West Indies Champions.
The India Champions squad boasts many strong players, including Shikhar Dhawan, who will make his debut in this tournament. Other key players include Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Stuart Binny, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Vinay Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Abhimanyu Mithun, Varun Aaron, and Pawan Negi, making it a formidable team with a deep pool of all-rounders.
India Champions will face Pakistan Champions in their opening league match on July 20. Subsequent matches include games against South Africa Champions on July 22, Australia Champions on July 26, England Champions on July 27, and West Indies Champions on July 29. The semi-finals will take place on July 31, followed by the final on August 2.
In the first season, under Yuvraj Singh’s captaincy, India Champions won two out of five league matches, finishing fourth in the points table to qualify for the playoffs. They defeated Australia Champions by 86 runs in the semi-final and triumphed over Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the final.
