Fight Over Dhaka Pitch BAN vs PAK: After the humiliating defeat against Bangladesh in the T20 International match, Pakistan's head coach Mike Hesson looked furious. He called the pitch a villain and got a reply from Bangladesh.
Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh did not start well. It had to face defeat by 7 wickets in the first match of the three-match T20 International series. Host Bangladesh achieved the target of 111 runs with 7 wickets remaining and 27 balls to spare. After this defeat, Pakistan's white-ball coach Mike Hesson was seen lamenting the pitch. He said that he had never seen such a poor pitch for an international match. However, the opposition team's batsman Parvez Hussain Emon taunted that his team was out of balance. Let us tell you that 3 batsmen of Pakistan were also run out.
Batting first, Pakistan scored only 110 runs in 19.3 overs. Opener Fakhar Zaman was the only successful batsman with the bat, who scored 44 runs. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed bowled lethally for Bangladesh and took 3 wickets. The real reason for Pakistan's downfall was the failure of the batsmen. On this, Hesson admitted that his batsmen did not read the pitch conditions properly, but he called the pitch the real villain.
Very poor pitch for T20 International
Hesson said after the match- I think the pitch is not ideal for anyone. Teams are preparing for Asia Cup or T20 World Cup. This is not acceptable. This is not an excuse for the failure of our batsmen, but this pitch is not up to international standards. He further said- You need good cricket wickets to develop cricketers. To be honest, there were some good wickets during BPL. It is not up to the standard when international cricket is played.
He even said that I don't think it helps them when they play outside Bangladesh. When you are not sure whether 100 or 130 or 150 is enough. I don't think the pitch is good for anyone. It still doesn't change the fact that you have to perform better on any surface. We will look at it as a team. Pakistan's batting troubles became evident when at one point they lost 5 wickets for 46 runs. Many batsmen got out trying to play big shots, while 3 got out.
Bangladeshi batsman Parvez Hussain Emon lashed out, said- he did not know how to play
In contrast to Hesson's harsh comments, Bangladesh opener Parvez Hussain Emon disagreed with the assessment of the pitch. He said that it was not a bad surface at all and emphasized that his team made better adjustments than the Pakistan team. Emon said that there was no special trick in the pitch.
Eamon said- We did not feel that it was a bad pitch, because we got it in less than 16 overs. If we had played the full 20 overs, we could have scored 150-160 runs. Maybe they were not able to adapt to the pitch. We adjusted better than them. The Dhaka pitch usually benefits the bowlers. We tried to assess the wicket quickly. This was our first plan. Both the teams will now face each other in the second T20I at the same venue in Dhaka on Tuesday, 22 July.
