Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancer Amy Dowden could be set for a major comeback on the show in 2026, after enduring a few challenging years. Last weekend, the Welsh dancer was left in tears after her partner Thomas Skinner became the first contestant to be voted off the 2025 series.
The Apprentice star faced Chris Robshaw in the dreaded dance-off, but the judges ultimately chose to save the rugby ace.
Since his exit, Amy has been inundated with messages of support from fans, who expressed sadness over her return not being the victorious one they had hoped for.

Viewers were particularly keen to see the 35-year-old dancer progress this season with her celebrity partner, after a difficult couple of years.
In 2023, she had to take a break from the show to undergo surgery for breast cancer, from which she has thankfully recovered, reports Wales Online.
After getting back on her feet, she made a joyful return to the dance floor last year with JLS star JB Gill, but later had to withdraw due to health reasons.

Now that her stint on the show has ended prematurely once again, a PR expert believes 2026 could finally be her year of success on the show.
Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius explained: "Fans will almost certainly voice their disappointment (if she has an early exit from the show).
"That kind of reaction rarely goes unnoticed, and with such huge support behind her, producers will likely feel pressure to secure her a place in the 2026 line-up.
"With a more compatible partner, there's little doubt viewers would rally behind her again to go all the way in the competition.
"Perhaps 2026 could finally be third time lucky for Amy – the year she lifts her first Glitterball trophy!"
Despite her latest setback, Amy, who joined the BBC programme in 2017, has stayed upbeat about the outcome.
Speaking to presenter Tess Daly after Thomas' elimination was confirmed, she said with emotion: "I've got to know the real Tom and he is adorable.

"He's looked after me, we've laughed endlessly, worked so hard, and while a Glitterball would've been amazing, what I've learned these past few years is that happiness, health and friendship matter most – and I've gained a friend for life.
"If I'm honest, I wouldn't change a thing. I know there's a ballroom boy in him, so I'm gutted I didn't get to do the ballroom."
As Thomas became tearful beside her, she added: "The last few years have been really difficult for me and I lost all confidence as a dancer, but walking into the room with your smile and laugh brought me back – honestly, thank you."
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:05pm on BBC One.
