This case is related to Sanju Bhagat of Nagpur, whose stomach was slightly swollen since childhood, as compared to normal children. The family did not pay much attention to it in the beginning.

Often, such cases come up in medical science, which surprise even the doctors. One such extremely rare and shocking case came to light from Nagpur, Maharashtra, where a person remained pregnant with twins for more than 36 years. This rare medical condition is known as fetus in fetus.
This case is related to Sanju Bhagat of Nagpur, whose stomach was slightly swollen since childhood, as compared to normal children. The family did not pay much attention to it in the beginning, but as Sanju grew up, his stomach grew abnormally. His stomach had swollen so much that people started calling him a pregnant man.
Around 1999, Sanju's condition started deteriorating. The increasing size of his stomach started putting pressure on his diaphragm, causing him severe breathing difficulties. Eventually, he was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.
Even the doctors were surprised.
Initially, the doctors thought that Sanju had a large tumor in his stomach, which was growing rapidly. They decided to operate. When Dr. Ajay Mehta and his team started Sanju's operation, they were stunned to see the sight inside. There was no tumor inside the stomach, but a partially developed human fetus. The doctors said that when they put their hands on the stomach, they felt bones. During the operation, they removed many parts of the human body one by one, including bones, hair, jaws, and other body parts. This scene was so unusual that even the doctors were shocked.
What is fetus in fetu?
Fetus in fetus is an extremely rare congenital condition. It occurs when, in a monozygotic (formed from a single embryo) twin pregnancy, one fetus develops fully while the other fetus remains underdeveloped and is encased within the body of its developing twin. This underdeveloped fetus is usually found in the abdomen of the surviving baby or sometimes in another part of the body. It receives its blood supply from the host fetus but has no functional brain, heart, or other vital organs of its own.
Sanju Bhagat's case was an extraordinary example of surviving with this condition for 36 years, which created curiosity in the medical world. This phenomenon is one of those mysteries of science that make us think about the human body and its complexities. Sanju was operated on successfully, after which he recovered.
