The entire temple is lit up with flowers and lights. Also, the evening aarti and Deepdaan on the ghat on the banks of the Gomti river captivates the mind. The special worship of the Rukmini Devi temple is also popular among the devotees on this day. How to reach Dwarka?

If you are going to Dwarka from another state or city, then you can take the air route for a short journey. The nearest airport to Dwarka is Jamnagar Airport, which is 137 km away. Dwarka can be reached from here by taxi or bus.

For a budget rail journey, go to Dwarka Railway Station, which is connected to major cities of the country. The distance of Dwarkadhish Temple from the railway station is about two km. You can easily reach the temple in 10 minutes by sharing an auto or rickshaw.

Apart from this, those who wish to travel by road can start their journey from Ahmedabad and Rajkot. Direct bus or cab services are available from here to Dwarka.

Dwarka Yatra Expenses

Only a few days are left for Janmashtami, so flight tickets from Delhi to Jamnagar can be expensive at this time. If you book a ticket now, you may have to spend around 10 to 12 thousand rupees one way. However, the ticket prices will decrease in the month of September. There is only one train available from Delhi to Dwarka, which is the Uttaranchal Express. This train departs on Sunday at 1.25 pm. The fare of this train, which reaches in about 22 hours, can range from Rs 590 to Rs 2260. Staying and eating here for two days can cost you around Rs 1500 to 2000 per person. For a budget trip, book transport and hotel tickets in advance. Due to the large crowd of devotees on Janmashtami, it may be difficult to get a room in nearby hotels.
