Yuzvendra Chahal has finally responded to the ongoing rumours about his ex-wife Dhanashree Verma and the allegations of infidelity that have surrounded their separation.

Yuzvendra Chahal Responds to Cheating Allegations, Says the Claims Are Baseless
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Yuzvendra Chahal firmly dismissed the cheating allegations made against him, calling them “baseless and exhausting”. He clarified that he has moved on from that chapter of his life and wishes others would do the same.
He said, “I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat. Agar koi two months mein hi cheat karta toh itna lamba relationship chalta kya? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved forward with my life and everyone else should do, too.”
Cricketer Says the Marriage Lasted 4.5 Years and There Was No Truth to the Claims
Reflecting on his marriage to Dhanashree Verma, which lasted over four years, Chahal said the rumours hold no truth. “Hamari shaadi 4.5 years thi. Agar two months mein cheat hua hota toh kaun continue karta? Mai pehle bhi bol chuka hun ki mai past se nikal chuka hun. But some people are still stuck there… unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai toh they can continue doing that. I am not concerned or affected,” he stated.
Yuzvendra Chahal Says This Is the Last Time He Will Speak About His Past
Chahal made it clear that he is done addressing questions about his previous relationship. “Mai iss chapter ko bhula chuka hun. Koi kuch bhi keh deta hai, and social media pe chal jata hai. 100 baatein chalti hain, but the truth is only one, and those who matter, know it. Mere liye chapter closed hai. I don’t want to address it ever again,” he told Hindustan Times.
He added that social media often spreads rumours without facts and that he prefers to stay away from unnecessary controversies.
Chahal Says He Is Focused on His Future and Career, Not the Past
The 35-year-old cricketer emphasised that his focus is now on personal growth and his cricket career. “I am focusing on my life and on my game,” he said, ending the discussion on a positive note.
Chahal and Dhanashree tied the knot in December 2020 after connecting online during the Covid-19 lockdown when he joined her dance classes. The couple filed for divorce in February 2024, and the separation was finalised earlier this year after the Bombay High Court granted an expedited settlement before IPL 2025.

When asked about this during Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal revealed that the T-shirt choice was intentional and “a message to someone.”
