Gaya (Bihar) [India], October 20 (ANI): Bihar Minister and Bharariya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar on Monday said that the opposition parties have formed an alliance only for power and alleged they have no concern for the people of the state.
Speaking with ANI, Kumar said that NDA was moving forward and targeted the opposition Mahagathbandhan, for 'failing to reach" proper seat-sharing.
"The Mahagathbandhan has already failed in seat sharing in Bihar. The NDA is moving forward, our coordination is better. Voters have understood that these people (the Mahagathbandhan) have no concern for Bihar. They have come together only for power," said Kumar, who is the BJP candidate from Gaya Town assembly constituency.
Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal has said the NDA alliance has "rock solid" unity. He referred to alliance partners as "Pandavas".
NDA alliance comprises five partners - BJP, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM).
Jaiswal also suggested that there is "infighting" in the opposition's Mahagathbandhan.
"The NDA alliance has the rock-solid unity of the five Pandavas. On the other hand, there is infighting in the Mahagathbandhan. All the Mahagathbandhan parties, including RJD and Congress, are spending their time accusing each other. People are watching, the voters are watching. Mahagathbandhan that cannot share seats cannot run Bihar," the BJP leader told ANI.
Amid differences among Mahagathbandhan parties on some seats, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said that the alliance parties must understand that the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led party mainly contests in Bihar and won't ask for seats in states like Karnataka and Rajasthan.
Polling for all 243 assembly seats in Bihar will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results set to be declared on November 14.
The last date to file nominations for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Election is Monday (October 20).
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has already announced that the party will go solo in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The announcement came after the Mahagathbandhan, which includes RJD and Congress, failed to seal a pact for the first phase of the Bihar polls, with the nomination process ending on Friday.
Congress has released its second list amid the ongoing Mahagathbandhan seat-sharing crisis on Saturday. On October 17, the Congress party released its first list of 48 candidates for the assembly poll. (ANI)
